Badlands Contracting is an EPC firm focused on building infrastructure in the Williston Basin. Our model is to provide full integration from conception to commissioning for clients in the oil and gas industry. Badlands Contracting specializes in project development, facility and pipeline design, procurement, construction management and field construction services.

Job Summary

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for supporting oilfield operations while leading/coordinating multiple jobs simultaneously. This position is diverse and may vary daily. This position requires the ability to work in all types of inclement and extreme weather conditions. Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee construction of multiple projects in the oil and gas industry

• Act as a field manager, maintaining a schedule, budget, daily reports and organized database of project documents

• Coordinate jobs with subcontractors

• Communicate regularly with clients and vendors

• Receives telephone requests for services from customers and relays information to crews and field personnel.

• Recommend equipment to fill the job and coordinate same.

• Computes quantities of materials required for services.

• Inspect equipment to ensure that it is dressed properly.

• Coordinate transportation of the equipment to and from vendors and jobs.

• Test and maintain equipment for readiness.

• Maintain inventory records.

• Dispatches crews to oil well servicing assignments.

• Prepares time reports and other records.

• Supervise subordinate employees.

• Work assignments are carried out to the highest quality level.

• Other duties as assigned


Required Skills & Abilities

• Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.

• Basic computer skills utilizing various programs in Microsoft Office Suite; must possess ability to learn company or industry specific applications.

• Must be able to occasionally work extended hours, including weekends, as needed.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.


Education & Experience:

Basic

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• A minimum of 5 years of pipeline and/or facility construction

• Valid Driver’s License

Education & Experience:

Preferred

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job (but are not limited to). The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time, unassisted. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery are required. This job also requires full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 (SIXTY-FIVE) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner. 


Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work is usually done outdoors and sometimes at a client facility or job site and is frequently performed in inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving electricity, mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position regularly requires long work hours and frequent weekend work.
