Badlands Contracting is an EPC firm focused on building infrastructure in the Williston Basin. Our model is to provide full integration from conception to commissioning for clients in the oil and gas industry. Badlands Contracting specializes in project development, facility and pipeline design, procurement, construction management and field construction services.

Job Summary

The Pipeline Laborer position is responsible for supporting oilfield operations. This position is diverse and may vary daily. The Pipeline Laborer works with equipment they are qualified to operate such as hand tools, power tools and heavy equipment. This position requires the ability to work in all types of inclement and extreme weather conditions. The position also requires a commitment to understanding and exhibiting Badlands Contracting’s Mission and Core Values, following safety rules, federal and state laws and regulations as well as representing the company in a professional, courteous manner always. 


Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform facility construction.

• General facility maintenance.

• Perform cleanup duties on well site locations and/or at the facility

• Install and repair piping, valves, pumps, and motors.

• Install and repair pipelines.

• Hydrotesting above ground pipe and pipelines.

• Well pad reclamations.

• Using hand and power tools to complete tasks.

• Operate backhoes, skid steers or other moving or lifting equipment

• Buy into the company policy of safety first.

• All other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

Basic

• Minimum high school diploma or GED

• Minimum 1-2 years of oil and gas operations experience preferred.

• Experience working as laborer, including proficiency with all types of tools and equipment is preferred.

• Demonstrated working knowledge of DOT regulations preferred.

• Must be willing and able to work in a field environment in all weather conditions and noisy environments; Must have the ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials and manipulating things.

• Must be willing and able to work as needed on a 24/7 basis; Travel to field required daily

Preferred

• Pipeline: 2 years

• Oil & gas: 2 years

• Industrial Construction: 2 years


Physical Requirements

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job (but are not limited to). The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time, unassisted. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery are required. This job also requires a full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 (SIXTY-FIVE) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks safely. 



Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work is usually done outdoors and sometimes at a client facility or job site and is frequently performed in inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving electricity, mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position regularly requires long work hours and frequent weekend work.
